Piazza Garibaldi is one of Reggio Calabria’s most significant urban hubs, bridging the northern and southern parts of the city. Known for its striking rectangular layout, the square hosts the Central trains Station, public transport stops, taxi services, and a large parking area. At its heart stands the marble statue of Garibaldi, crafted by Alessandro Monteleone in 1956, surrounded by lush magnolia gardens. Visitors can also explore remarkable archaeological finds, including a Roman tomb and the remains of ancient structures uncovered during recent excavations, offering a glimpse into the city’s rich history and underground evolution.
