Nestled along the scenic Falcomatà promenade in Reggio Calabria, Opera by Edoardo Tresoldi stands as a breathtaking fusion of history, art, and environment. Opened in September 2018, this monumental installation transforms a 2,500-square-meter park into a realm of light and geometry. Forty-six wire mesh columns, each soaring up to eight meters high, evoke the elegance of ancient temples. Yet, their transparent forms reveal a modern spirit — one that invites visitors to wander between presence and absence.

Commissioned by the Municipality of Reggio Calabria and supported by the “Patto per lo Sviluppo” initiative, Opera quickly became a cultural icon on the Ionian coast. Moreover, it mirrors the city’s deep-rooted identity and its dialogue with the surrounding landscape. Here, architecture and nature coexist, offering a space where time seems suspended. As the sun shifts through the day, light and shadow dance across the structure, creating a living connection between sea, sky, and urban life.

In addition, Opera serves as a “mental agora,” a place designed for reflection and conversation. Visitors are encouraged to pause, breathe, and engage with the intangible beauty of transparency. Tresoldi’s unique technique — blending solid form with ethereal void — transforms the installation into a meditative experience.
